Arroyo Verde Park is a precious natural preserve and recreational resource in Ventura. The 132 acres of land feature 14 acres of spacious tree-lined open grass areas for picnicking, barbecue parties or just relaxing under the tall trees with your loved ones.

There’s something uniquely special about this place. You’ll feel it when walking through those lush green tunnel trails while observing nature up close. They also have two children’s playgrounds. A great way to continue enjoying here would be by taking advantage of their hiking trails.

The park’s first inclusive play area will soon be ready for use. First, they have to make sure everything passes safety inspections and any last-minute details are taken care of.

Arroyo Verde Park’s main play structure was destroyed in the Thomas Fire in 2017, but rather than rebuild an identical one, the city officials in Ventura wanted to think about how they could make this space more inclusive. They created a fully integrated Play Area where children of all abilities can share together.

We all have a responsibility to be inclusive. Park designers took this into account when they designed the new adaptive play space for children of all abilities so that no one gets left out in this community-driven environment. The City and CVCPF have been working together on it since last year and now you can enjoy these fantastic parks in Ventura as well, thanks to their hard work 

This hiking trail is a great place to explore the outdoors and enjoy nature. The 1 hour 16 minutes average time makes it challenging, but that just means you get more out of your trip! Bring plenty of water with you so don’t go without on this beautiful afternoon or evening adventure.

After months of design conversations with families, community members, and medical professionals, park designers developed an adaptive play space where children of all abilities can enjoy themselves together. The City has been working tirelessly for over a year now in order to make this dream come true!
